Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-06-30

⚠️ Template — review with a qualified lawyer before public launch. Replace all [PLACEHOLDER] values.

These Terms govern your use of RoadPeer, a compliance-first travel and camping marketplace and community for the EU/EEA, operated by [PLACEHOLDER: operator legal entity]. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

  • The platform is intended for residents of the EU/EEA.
  • You must be at least 16 to hold a community account, subject to local age-of-consent rules. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm minimum age for your launch country]
  • Providers must be 18 or older and an EU/EEA citizen or legally eligible EU/EEA resident.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep your account secure.

2. RoadPeer is a marketplace & community — not a party to services

RoadPeer provides a platform that connects independent providers with other members. We are not a party to any agreement, service or transaction between members. We do not provide the listed services ourselves, we do not employ providers, and no employment, agency, partnership or joint-venture relationship is created between RoadPeer and any member. Providers act independently and set their own scope, availability and (where applicable) terms.

3. Acceptable use

  • Use the platform lawfully and respectfully.
  • No harassment, discrimination, hate speech, or threats.
  • No fraud, impersonation, scraping, or attempts to break security.
  • Do not misuse live/approximate location sharing to track or stalk anyone.
  • Do not post illegal content or content infringing others' rights.
  • Do not solicit off-platform deals to evade safety or moderation controls.

4. User-generated content (road spots, reviews, messages)

You keep ownership of content you submit, including road spots, reviews, photos and messages. By posting, you grant RoadPeer a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the platform. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained for legal or backup reasons or already shared with other members.

  • Only post content you have the right to share.
  • Reviews must be honest, first-hand and non-retaliatory.
  • Road spots must respect land access, private property and local camping/parking rules.
  • We may remove content that breaches these Terms or the law.

5. Virtual points

  • The platform uses virtual points only. There is currently no real money on the platform.
  • Points have no monetary value, are not currency, electronic money or a payment instrument, and are not redeemable for cash or transferable for value.
  • We may change, expire, adjust or discontinue points and their rules at any time, and points may be forfeited if your account is terminated for breach.
  • If real payments are introduced later, separate terms and consumer-protection disclosures will apply. [PLACEHOLDER: future payments terms]

6. Provider responsibilities

  • You are solely responsible for your own taxes, in your tax-residence country and any country where you operate.
  • You are responsible for your own insurance and any liability arising from your services.
  • You are responsible for any required business registration, licensing and permits and for complying with all local laws.
  • You must only offer services you are legally allowed to provide.

7. Prohibited & regulated categories

Certain categories are blocked or restricted because they typically require special licensing, insurance or legal review. See the Safety & Legal Center for the current list.

  • No safety-critical, gas, electrical or structural work on vehicles.
  • No services requiring a licence you do not hold.
  • No illegal goods or services, weapons, or controlled substances.
  • No activity violating road, camping, environmental or wildlife protection laws.

8. Content moderation & flagging (DSA notice-and-action)

In line with the EU Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065), any member can flag content — including community road spots, reviews and messages — that they believe is illegal or breaches these Terms. We operate a notice-and-action process: we review reports, may remove or restrict content, and where required notify the content provider and explain the decision (statement of reasons). You may contest a moderation decision via [PLACEHOLDER: appeal / complaint channel].

9. Suspension & termination

You may stop using RoadPeer and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or the law, pose a safety risk, or misuse the platform. Where proportionate and lawful, we will give notice and a reason.

10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that listings, providers, road spots or member-supplied information are accurate, safe or lawful. To the maximum extent permitted by law, RoadPeer is not liable for services arranged between members or for member-generated content. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under EU or national mandatory law (including for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or intentional/gross misconduct), and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected. [PLACEHOLDER: liability cap, if any, permitted under local law]

11. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [PLACEHOLDER: governing-law country], without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform. [PLACEHOLDER: competent courts / jurisdiction]

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version with an updated date and, for material changes, notify you in-app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
